Fused glass jewellery - pendant - 154

€25.00

A unique fused-glass dichroic pendant - hand-made by me in Ballydehob, West Cork.

Changing colours in this piece run from a yellow through green and  light blue in an an unusual hexagon pattern against a black background.
Size of the glass =  1" / 25 mm tall.

The dichroic glass has no colour itself - but breaks up the daylight into ever-changing hues as it moves in the light.
It's almost impossible to capture the beauty of this fused-glass jewellery in photographs - but if you like the photo then you will love the pendant.

Mounted with a silver-plated bail on a silky black 17" / 42cm cord with clasp. You can easily replace the cord with your own favorite chain if you wish.

How it's made
This unique fused-glass pendant is made from two layers of sparkly dichroic glass fused in my kiln at temperatures up to 800c in a process that takes 8 hours. The dichroic glass changes colour unpredictably during the firing process, so even I do not know what the end-result will be. After initial fusing, the glass is drilled in order to fit the pinch-bail, and sometimes coldworked to refine the shape and form, before being fired again, then it is threaded onto the silky black nylon cord and mounted in a card gift-box.

Handmade in West Cork.
